The Campaign

Find out about the Norfolk broadband campaign, what we want and how you can get involved

We aim to ensure Norfolk households and businesses have access to the broadband speeds they need to improve the county's competitive edge, matching if not exceeding national targets.

The campaign had some welcome news on the 27th May 2011, as Norfolk's multi-million pound bid for broadband funding was approved by the Government. Click here to read more.

How you can get involved in our campaign
  •      Ensure that you sign up to any broadband pilots where appropriate – if Norfolk shows its businesses are actively engaged in broadband pilots there is a greater chance they will enable them here.

  •     Raise demand in your business park or village - like in Cawston and Eastgate with their Looking for Broadband website and Lyng and their Broadband Action Group

Shaping Norfolk’s Future's and Norfolk County Council's Latest Actions

  • Creating a series of electronic maps showing the current broadband coverage across the county, not spots and concentrations of SMEs among other elements
  • Producing a broadband strategy for Norfolk. This is a live document which is kept up to date
  • Holding conversations with providers including BT, Virgin Media and Avanti
