Free energy saving support through REV ACTIVE

More than 1,000 SME's are being encouraged to cut costs, save money and reduce their carbon footprint through free advice with REV ACTIVE

The multi million pound project developed by Breckland Council supports regeneration and economic growth predominantly along the A11 corridor by actively targeting businesses with the potential to cut their utility bills and reduce CO2 emissions.

Fiona Keysell, Sustainable Prosperity Officer, who works for both Shaping Norfolk’s Future and REV ACTIVE said,

"This is a great opportunity for businesses to cut their costs. It can create significant savings which will really help improve competitiveness. We can offer, at no charge, a range of specialist consultancy and support, including onsite audits, reports and grants."

Benefits to business include:

· free, professional advice from experts in the field

· lower utility bills through reducing energy costs

· increased competitiveness

· improved environmental credentials when tendering for contracts

· increased business fitness and longevity

· improved environmental credentials when marketing the business and attracting talented employees

Further targeted ‘hands on’ support and consultancy can be provided to help create or re-engineer processes and products to make bigger or longer term savings and deeper carbon CO2 cuts.

A range of additional services will also be made available to the wider business community, focusing on self-help and assistance around ‘quick wins’ in areas such as reducing lighting/heating usage, changing staff behaviour and collective procurement.

"The aim" said Fiona, "is to create an environment where the businesses community can share ideas, best practice and benefit from working together."

The project is part-financed by the European Union European Regional Development Fund, Breckland Council, Norfolk County Council and Shaping Norfolk's Future.
