The Challenge
Organisations including Lotus, May Gurney, Archant Print, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Radio Norfolk will be competing to win a track day at Lotus and free EcoSafe Driver training for up to 15 of drivers, provided by Norfolk County Council.
The competition, engineered by Shaping Norfolk’s Future and partners, will help you to save up to 20% on your fuel bills – that means your 5th tank of fuel is, effectively free.
The Benefits
EcoDriving will help your business to:
- reduce fuel consumption by up to 20%
- reduce maintenance costs
- increase road safety amongst drivers
- reduce carbon emissions
Enter a team of 3 into the competition to compete against other Norfolk businesses on the EcoDriving simulators, on 9th, 10th and 11th March in the Forum, Norwich.
Fiona Atkins, the Sustainable Prosperity Officer for Shaping Norfolk’s Future said,
“the benefits to businesses and organisations taking part are really significant. Teams will be taught the principles of EcoDriving, how to operate and maintain vehicles to make them really efficient and ways in which fuel consumption can be reduced. The media are putting forward teams and will cover the competition, which will be good coverage for businesses taking part. So, we’re all set for having a fun, challenging and very competitive event.”
The Criteria
The competition, launched last month by Jake Humphrey, the Formula 1 presenter, is aimed at any size business. This includes companies which operate a large transport fleet to smaller, independent companies that may have two or three vehicles. Everyone is welcome.
The Prize!
The team that uses the least amount of fuel and carbon emissions over a set distance will win a track day at Lotus, which will include a demonstration in the Lotus Exige 270E Tri-fuel demonstrator car, practical driver training on the track, a factory tour around Lotus and lunch overlooking the track. Second and third place will be awarded tickets for a tour around the Lotus factory.
The top three companies will each win EcoSafe Driver training provided by Norfolk County Council for up to 15 drivers.
